Leopold Simon, of Simon and
Mosenfelders, moved into this home
around 1890 and lived here until
around 1910. It was then purchased by
William S. McComb of Young and
McComb's Department Store. It
remained in the McComb family unti1
1969. Trim makes this a ÒFree ClassicÓ
Queen Anne. Here, classical columns
and square-cut balusters instead of turned posts and spindle work form
the porch. The porch once was larger, wrapping around to the south in a
semi-circle. The large attic Palladian window and the scalloped shingle
detailing surrounding it have been beautifully preserved.
