Harvey D. Mack bought this house in
1892. At the time, he was an agent for
the CB&Q Railroad and later became
the president of Blackhawk Building
and Loan Association. The Mack family
lived in the home until the late 1920s.
It was converted into apartments around
1935. The corner tower with a bellcast
(flared) roof and complex overall roof
shape are hallmarks of the Queen Anne
style. Other details include the four small twelve-paned windows on the
third story as well as a fancy transom above the large front window.
Delicate columns support the gabled porch. This home was ÒunveiledÓ in
recent years, exposing the original clapboard walls.
